Kate Somerset is the pen name for the author, who three years ago, moved from Texas to New York. A community leader in the nonprofit world, Kate was an established presence in Texas. After her 24 year marriage ended, she decided to pick up stakes and take a chance on a second chapter in Manhattan. Embracing her life in the Northeast, Kate has built new relationships, discovered new foods, learned to live in a high-rise building, and braved driving in Manhattan's rush hour. She is delighted that her Texas wardrobe works in the Big Apple and that her slightly Southern accent has helped start new conversations. Kate's true stories of dating in New York reflect her joy of growing, learning, laughter and love in her home.
